Vehicle Electronics Technician, California

Position Summary:
Performing electronic installation, service, and repair duties ranging from entry-level to journey-level, and managing data collection from experimental vehicles in San Francisco, and surrounding area.
Responsibilities include: installing, repairing, servicing, adjusting, calibrating, fine-tuning, and testing devices, circuitry and components on electronic and electronic communications equipment (e.g. cameras, monitors, video recorders, computers, transmitting, etc.) on vehicles, operating primarily on the basis of electric or electronic principles. Independently performs most assignments with instructions on global objectives and general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment. Must be willing to work nights and weekends. Positive attitude and reliable attendance required. Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds. Should be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:
-Demonstrated experience working with and/or installing vehicle-based electronic equipment
-Demonstrated working experience with hand tools, powered hand tools, soldering equipment, oscilloscope, and basic wiring.
-Demonstrated experience with schematics and performing basic diagnostics.
-Demonstrated experience PC board level soldering and properly creating and joining electrical cables.
-Demonstrated experience with using software programs such as Microsoft Office and Windows, transferring files and using word processors.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Associates degree in Electronics or related field is highly desirable.
