Integration Engineer

The Integration Engineer will play a central role in the overall strategy, architecture, implementation, and sustaining engineering of the institution's technology platforms. Responsible for the overall integration architecture of on-premise and cloud services, this individual will partner with service owners and IT staff to manage the overall integration of institutional data resulting in the timely and accurate flow of information to support campus transactional needs and decision making strategies. This person will facilitate, guide, and coach a group of highly skilled technical and business professionals in the use and evolution of integration technologies and strategies. The Integration Engineer will also provide technical counsel and guidance on topics and projects related to integration of institutional data to IT senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as technical lead in a highly matrixed environment in the on-going development and evolution of integration tools and technical infrastructure
  • Contribute to the advancement of a shared vision for the overall integration architecture by working with a variety of campus constituents
  • Facilitate technology architecture, design, and development decisions that align with operational needs and business processes
  • Serves as a member of the Enterprise Solutions Team; is a “go to” person for integration questions related to the colleges core on-premise and cloud services including but not limited to PeopleSoft, RaisersEdge, SLATE, Canvas, CampusLabs student success suite, etc.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to HWS staff on integration strategies and development tools
  • Provide input into the annual financial budgeting process to ensure that the integration suite is properly sustained on an annual basis
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating support, enhancements and integration of custom-built and purchased applications that integrate with PeopleSoft
  • Develop technical resolutions to support and enhance all operational processes, and work to implement new operational processes as needed by the user community
  • React quickly to new opportunities for extending the use of integration throughout the institution
  • Provides superior customer service to all campus constituent groups
  • Stays informed of new technology developments regarding integration and makes recommendations on how best to respond to these new developments

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration or commensurate professional experience
  • 5+ years experience in the implementation of multi-tiered enterprise systems, data architecture, and an overall solutions development methodology
  • 5+ years overall experience in software development, systems administration, and systems architecture
  • 5+ years technical experience working with ERP level systems highly desired
  • 5+ years experience using major RDBMS systems required
  • 5+ years experience in API development using web services (REST, SOAP) using XML or Flat Files required
  • Experiencing implementing integration frameworks highly desired
  • 5+ years experience in a technical lead role
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in written and interpersonal communication skills to include facilitating meetings, writing status reports, developing project plans, and generating cost estimates

OTHER INFORMATION:

This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible administrative salaried position. Normal campus office hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some on-call hours required. Some weekend and evening hours may be necessary. The benefit package includes but is not limited to: 20 days of vacation each year; 10 paid holidays; medical, dental, and vision insurances; employer-paid long-term disability and group term life insurance programs; employee and dependent tuition benefits and a generous employer contribution to the retirement savings plan.
