Job Summary The University of Kentucky Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory ( UKVDL ) in Lexington, KY seeks applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position in diagnostic veterinary anatomic pathology.
The University of Kentucky Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is a busy, full-service, NAHLN certified, and AAVLD -accredited laboratory with state-of-the-art necropsy and teaching facilities. Veterinary pathologists at the UKVDL play pivotal roles in diagnosing animal diseases associated with Kentucky s signature and internationally recognized equine industry, substantial beef cattle and poultry industries, small farms, zoo and wildlife populations, and companion animals.
The successful candidate will 1) provide accurate diagnostic pathology services including coordination of necropsy, surgical biopsy, and cytology cases, 2) effectively communicate with clients through timely diagnostic reports and correspondence, 3) develop and apply contemporary methodologies to advance diagnostic veterinary pathology or allied disciplines. Additionally, the candidate will be encouraged to contribute to animal health research through systemic inquiry using diagnostic case materials, collaborative research, or independent research in veterinary pathology or an allied discipline and have the potential to teach and mentor veterinary students and residents, graduate students, and post-doctoral scholars.
