Applications received subsequent to second consideration date (January 15, 2018) may not be given full consideration. _________________________________________ Applications are invited for a tenure-track, academic-year Assistant Professor position in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Rhode Island to begin Fall 2018. Duties & Responsibilities: Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses, publish original research, conduct interdisciplinary research, seek external funding, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in departmental, college, and university service. Qualifications Required: 1. A Ph.D. in Mathematics by time of appointment date June 2018. 2. A research specialty in any of the following: Probabilistic Combinatorics, Difference Equations, or Holomorphic Dynamical Systems. 3. Evidence of commitment to excellence in college level teaching, learning, and student success commensurate with level of academic experience. 4. Demonstrated ongoing research program and sustained record of publications commensurate with experience. 5. Demonstrated ability to contribute to our graduate research program and supervise Ph.D. students. 6. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations. Preferred: 1. Preference will be given to candidates who share research interests with current faculty members of the department. 2. Demonstrated ability to secure external funding. 3. Evidence of experience in using innovative pedagogical methods, including technology assisted learning.
