Program Coordinator

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief of Staff for the Facilities Department, the Program Coordinator (Coordinator) supports strategic programming for the office of the Associate Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer ( AVP & CFO ). The Coordinator performs a wide variety of activities to assist the AVP & CFO and Chief of Staff and has extensive interaction with senior university administration, business and community leaders, and executive offices of other Virginia colleges and universities. The chief objective of the position is to assist the Chief of Staff by providing staff support for meetings and university governance duties, as well as support general office functions and special projects. The position updates and drafts university policies that fall under the purview of the Facilities Department, provides general administrative project support to the Chief of Staff, facilitates departmental communications, manages the department's website, and leads staffing support initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, or related field or equivalent level of training and/or relevant experience.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with experience utilizing computer applications for data analysis and report development.
- Experience independently drafting and editing correspondence and other documents.
- Experience with report preparation, data gathering, research, analysis, and report writing.
- Demonstrated high proficiency with current software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, database management systems, electronic mail, and presentation applications.
- Experience that demonstrates professional communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse clientele.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently including establishing goals, managing projects and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and delegation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a higher education environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a university setting.
- Experience with policy and procedure development, policy interpretation and policy writing.
- Experience in marketing, design, and/or communications.
