Duties and Responsibilities | APPLICATION DEADLINE : The search will remain open until the position is filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by October 1, 2016. Second consideration may be given to applications received by November 1, 2016. Applications received subsequent to the second consideration date (November 1, 2016) may not be given full consideration. The Department of Fisheries, Animal and Veterinary Science in the College of the Environment and Life Sciences at the University of Rhode Island is seeking a Multicultural Post-Doctoral Fellow with a research focus in sustainable food animal production and a commitment to bringing multicultural perspectives to the curriculum, department, college, and university. Subject to a favorable review of teaching and scholarly activities, the Fellow will be provided with an opportunity to transition into a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. Basic Function/Responsibilities: The Fellow will teach an undergraduate and/or graduate course each semester and pursue his/her scholarly interests. |
Required Qualifications | Required: 1. A doctoral degree in Animal Science or related field, awarded by time of appointment. 2. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals/groups. 3. Demonstrated experience with incorporating a multicultural perspective and excellence in teaching in Animal Sciences. 4. Demonstrated evidence of an active research program including a record of research publication. 5. Demonstrated proficiency in English writing and oral communication. |
Preferred Qualifications | Preferred: 1. Demonstrated ability to enhance scholarship in the department. 2. Demonstrated evidence of promoting the academic and professional success of individuals in underrepresented groups. 3. Demonstrated experience with external funding to support scientific research. 4. Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with existing research programs at URI . |
