Assistant Director of System Development and Maintenance

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), to be responsible for the overall Kuali Coeus (KC) system at MIT. KC is a full-service grants management system offering cradle-to-grave sponsored research management functionality, including proposal development and budgeting, electronic proposal submission to grants.gov, and interfaces with other federal systems. Will evaluate KC against MIT users' needs and develop plans for system enhancements and be responsible for functions related to developing and supporting information systems to enable research administration activities at MIT and for decision-making and resource allocation related to ensuring the continued operation and security of OSP software applications. Responsibilities include the ongoing development, maintenance, and promotion of KC; coordinating the development and operation of data interfaces between KC and other Institute systems; analyzing customer requirements and determining viable technical solutions; making recommendations to business and IS&T management regarding new services and changes in MIT's IT architecture to meet emerging federal standards/requirements related to electronic research administration; collaborating on the design of research administration business solutions for OSP and MIT; developing and maintaining systems to interface with government e-commerce sites, including Grants.gov; and providing expertise and support for the electronic submission of proposals and receipt of electronic awards.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in computer science, management information systems, or business administration; excellent communication, leadership, organizational, project management, analysis, and design skills; supervisory experience; ability to learn new tools quickly and to maintain feeds of OSP data to other systems; and university administration experience, preferably in sponsored program administration. Familiarity with multiple operating systems/environments desirable; as is understanding of warehouse, financial system, and other MIT administrative systems. Job #15085-R
