Athletic Training - Assistant/Associate Professor

This tenure-track faculty position will oversee the development of the post-baccalaureate professional athletic training program, to include curriculum development, implementation and approval through the University and State Council of Higher Education of Virginia. Additionally, this individual will assist with the teach-out plan for the post-professional athletic training program.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Contemporary expertise in the field of athletic training; evidence of a research agenda; previous clinical practice as an athletic trainer; previous full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-secondary level; familiarity and experience with the CAATE Standards and accreditation process.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
An earned doctorate in a health related discipline

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
Certification and good standing with the Board of Certification as an Athletic Trainer; Licensed or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Virginia

Preferred Qualifications
involvement with and management of clinical education experiences; experience in Athletic Training program administration and/or leadership role
