Assistant Director of Community Outreach and Engagement

Reporting to the Director of Community Outreach and Engagement, this position is responsible for promoting ODU and ODUOnline programs to potential new partners in government, business and industry and to explore new opportunities with existing partners. In support of enrollment growth objectives, this position will concentrate on cultivating partnerships in areas identified as being high priority, in the Commonwealth, nationally, and internationally.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in business, higher education or related field of study or a bachelor's degree with work experience equivalent to a master's in business, higher education or related fields. Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques to establish new partnerships. Experience in promotion, sales or client relations in the Northern Virginia market area. Experience evaluating potential arrangements and negotiating the terms of proposed arrangements. Experience establishing and managing business-to-business partnerships, or other partnerships. Willingness to routinely travel regionally, nationally and internationally. Demonstrated success and continuous growth in partnership development and/or promotion/sales. Strong persuasive and accurate written and verbal communication skills. Ability to connect with professionals in various fields to promote products, services or programs. Professional, energetic, positive attitude, self-motivated, resourceful, and persistent. Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate a broad range of information to diverse audiences. Good business judgement. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and partners; strong team player. Demonstrated organizational skills, an ability to meet deadlines, and an ability to solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications
Related higher education experience.
Experience providing high-touch, high quality customer service. Experience implementing community outreach strategies as related to higher education.

Conditions of Employment
This is a primarily remote position which will require frequent travel within the northern Virginia area and various other locations as assigned.
