Job Description: Germanna Community College is seeking an innovative and collaborative individual to join the faculty as Internship Counselor in a newly established Career and Transfer Center. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead, develop and deliver comprehensive student internship and experiential learning services in support of students' educational, occupational and personal growth. The Internship Counselor is responsible for developing job descriptions of the various internships available in the organization, advertising the internships, and then selecting candidates. Build partnerships and internship opportunities. Market the internship program to employers, faculty members and students. Collaborate with Career and Transfer Center staff on events and workshops. Educate students on the role of internships in the college transfer and job search process. Ensure student interns they have the tools necessary to do their jobs by coordinating with faculty from appropriate areas of study.

 

This is a twelve-month faculty position.

Salary is commensurate with rank and credentials plus State benefits.

Minimum Requirements: Master's Degree in related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience working with college students
• Experience in a community college setting
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)
• Experience working with an internship program
