Job Summary:
The Office of Residential Life at Skidmore College is seeking one live-in, twelve-month Area Coordinator. This position reflects Skidmore College's commitment to excellence and community. Skidmore College offers a competitive salary (includes room), excellent benefits package, and a furnished two bedroom, on-campus apartment, that includes a washer and dryer unit. Master's required.

Create and maintain a healthy community; maintain visibility in the residence halls with daily student contact; facilitate educational programming in the hall; meet with students to address personal, social and academic concerns; refers students to appropriate offices on campus (i.e. Counseling Center, Health Services, Campus Safety) when indicated; communicate with parents as appropriate.Adjudicate student conduct cases. Supervise the Resident Assistants (RA); provide training, support, and evaluate student staff. Manage the residence halls including, responsibility for safety, building maintenance, room changes, room/hall inventories, damage assessments, openings and closings throughout the academic year; facilitate educational, social, health and safety programs in the hall. Maintain close working relationships with the Office of Residential Life and other offices and programs on campus; assist with Residential Life Staff Training, In-Service Training Programs, and new student orientation. Rotate week "on-call" campus duty (Monday through Sunday) with other Student Affairs professionals. Be available to all students during emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Student Affairs with strong ties to residential life and student development. Excellent administrative, leadership, supervisory, and communication skills. Ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty of diverse interests and backgrounds.
