Assistant/Associate Director Annual Giving?Next Generation


Brief Summary:

The Office of College Advancement at Marist College seeks an Assistant/Associate Director of Annual Giving - Next Generation. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, this position is responsible for the identification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of the next generation of leadership annual donors to the College, including alumni, parents, and friends. This position will engage those who are capable of making gifts up to $5,000 to the Marist Fund or other areas of critical need as the College begins its next comprehensive fundraising campaign. The Assistant/Associate Director of Annual Giving - Next Generation will be required to contribute significantly to the development of a pipeline of new gifts in support of the fundraising goals of the College. Other responsibilities include qualifying prospects, securing support for key institutional priorities, and stewarding donors through face-to-face meetings. This position requires moderate travel, two to three days per week. Travel is typically within the tristate area, but will also include periodic overnight and out-of-state visits.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct personal visits with alumni, parents, and friends with a focus on promising graduates of the last decade to establish the next generation of leadership Marist Fund donors.
  • Solicit and secure gifts up to $5,000 for the Marist Fund and other institutional fundraising priorities with specific goals for acquiring first time donors, securing new President's Club gifts, and advancing existing annual donors to higher giving levels.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Marist Fund team to achieve annual giving goals.
  • Support and advance special giving initiatives such as Marist Fund challenges, reunion giving, and Parents Fund campaigns.
  • Attend and interact with donors at Advancement, Alumni and Special events and activities throughout the year.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned in a safe and responsible manner.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three to five years directly related fundraising experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ability to attend evening and weekend Marist College events as required.
Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a high-performing team.
  • Independent, results-driven, passion about fundraising.
  • Ability to perform successfully in a team setting and in a minimally supervised environment.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of industry best practices for annual giving.
