This position will support and conduct molecular biology and cell biology laboratory experiments on research projects within well-defined guidelines. Other duties: evaluate results of experiments; analyze and summarize data; assist with preparation of tables and figures for publication; provide supervision and guidance to junior laboratory personnel; manage daily laboratory operation including purchasing, inventory, and maintenance of laboratory records.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Demonstrated ability to properly use, maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated biological research equipment such as balances, pH meters, electrophoresis chambers, incubators, and microscopes. Demonstrated ability in using sterile techniques for the culturing of many cell types. Considerable knowledge of molecular biology techniques, including gel electrophoresis, PCR , and DNA sequencing. Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office software and budgeting procedures.

Level and type of experience
Highly diversified molecular cell biology laboratory experience, either through employment or laboratory courses.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Experience in molecular diagnostic techniques either from laboratory experience or laboratory courses necessary. Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Cell biology or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
