Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences

The Department of Biological Sciences (https://www.odu.edu/biosci) at Old Dominion University, a PhD-granting state university, has a 9-month Lecturer position opening beginning December 2017. Additional teaching opportunities are available during the summer semester. The selected candidate will be expected to teach in our required core courses Cell Biology and Genetics (without laboratory); other possible courses could include General Microbiology (with laboratory) or biomedical pre-professional courses. In addition, the selected candidate will contribute to undergraduate curriculum management and improvement, including the development of relevant online courses. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, Genetics or a related field at the time of employment. Teaching experience at the university level is highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to teach scientific principles to post-secondary students. Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others.
