Santa Fe University of Art and Design is an independent educational institution grounded in a strong liberal arts curriculum and distinguished by its programs in the creative arts. Santa Fe University of Art and Design offers an interdisciplinary Liberal Arts Core Curriculum and a distinctive set of programs in the arts, including Art, Photography, Moving Image Arts (Film), Creative Writing/Literature, Graphic Design, Music, Photography, Business Management and Performing Arts.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Santa Fe University of Art & Design seeks qualified instructors to serve as contributing faculty in the Film School. Appointments will be part-time and will be made on a term-by-term basis. Courses vary from 2 credits to 4 credits. The primary responsibility will be classroom instruction / course delivery in the core subject area of film:

Film 3356: Telling a Story with the Camera.

We are seeking candidates with both professional filmmaking and teaching experience for a variety of course levels that will consist of a combination of lectures, discussion, and hands-on projects. Contributing faculty members serve in a part-time capacity to educate Santa Fe University of Art and Design students by effectively and proficiently delivering information, feedback, and critique in thoughtful, carefully formulated, well written, and timely communications. This is accomplished in an environment that is respectful of the student, faculty member, Santa Fe University of Art and Design, and the discipline in which the faculty member is involved. Faculty members are expected to adhere to all Santa Fe University of Art and Design Faculty expectations, which are clearly set forth to the instructor at the start of his/her employment with the University.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver class instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course competencies and which support lesson objectives.
Promote and facilitate student success by creating an environment conducive to learning and student involvement
Provide student support for every aspect of learning in the form of office hours, tutorial assistance, coaching, career advice and academic assistance. Faculty members will publish their availability to students through course syllabi, instructor information in the classroom, and/or other appropriate documents.
Participate in key school events and ceremonies including faculty meetings, one-on-one meetings with the department chair, the graduation ceremony and convocation.
Foster student success by showing flexibility in style and delivery methods as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and students interaction.
Manage the learning environment through effective record keeping (ie. Attendance), submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school/campus academic and attendance policies.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.
Any other assistance deemed necessary to promote the program or maintain its teaching delivery at the highest level of quality.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in your area of expertise.
Candidates should possess a significant record of creative, artistic, intellectual or professional contributions to their respective field, including experience in the practice thereof.
Three to five years of teaching experience at the degree level of the program is strongly preferred
Commitment to the learning and development needs of students, and participation in the assessment of student learning outcomes is required.

Utilize online and computer-based technology when appropriate or required.
