Director of Career Services & Assessment

Title Position Reports To: Executive Director Center for Career and Professional Development
JOB SUMMARY:
Develop and implement strategies in support of positive career outcomes for students and graduates of the University. Promote, facilitate, and coordinate various experiential learning opportunities for students including internships, campus employment, and professional and leadership development. Assess, compile and publicize placement and internship data and profile student and alumni success.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Counsel students regarding work experience, job/internship search activities and resume preparation.
Serve as chief liaison to the Deputy Provost, the Office of Institutional Research & Planning and to the Office of Information Technology Services to lead and develop all departmental assessment activity including internship tracking and graduate outcomes collections. Assist in developing policies and procedures for capturing, assessing, and promoting graduate outcomes data.
Compile and publicize placement data for all programs and profile student and alumni success.
Support career services at the University's dynamic learning hubs, including Manhattan. Lead, develop, and manage all policies and procedures for NYC Scholars Internship Program.
Manage daily operations of the Jaggar Community Fellows Program.
Assist in developing a "gap-year" experience for high school students.
Assist in coordinating AU International Career Services.
Serve as primary contact to the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Nursing & Public Health, and the Athletics Department
In conjunction with the Office of Pre-Professional Advisement and Fellowships, facilitate professional and graduate school advising
Supervise the production of the bi-annual Career Compass newsletter highlighting events, services and student success stories.
Supervise all social media online communications on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, etc.
Present workshops on internships, resume preparation, interview skills and other career topics.
Develop mechanisms to enhance program learning outcomes assessment.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent interpersonal, counseling and presentation skills.
Experience networking with employers or organizations.
Extensive computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet).
Proficiency in the use of social media as a recruitment/placement tools
Ability to multi-task while organizing a variety of programs and providing attention to detail.
Initiate and be creative in administering complex projects
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree required and 10+ years of career services experience.
