Program Director, Upward Bound Program

Program Director, Upward Bound Program

Medaille College seeks applications for a full-time, 12-month Program Director to provide leadership and administrative oversight for the Upward Bound (TRIO) Program. The program is a United States Department of Education Title IV grant-funded TRIO program designed to provide opportunities for low-income, first generation youth to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. The Upward Bound grant is currently entering year 1 of a 5-year grant.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing leadership and interpretation of federal legislation and regulations for the Upward Bound program to achieve goals and objectives established for the grant, supervise staff, liaise between Medaille College, Buffalo Public School District officials, stakeholders, and local agencies, oversee the coordination of services, and manage data.

The position requires a Master's degree in education, student personnel, counseling, education psychology, or another related field and four years of experience as a high school teacher, counselor, academic advisor, or other experience with TRIO programs. Supervisory experience preferred. The applicant must have excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to supervise and direct program staff.
