Brief Summary:
The Assistant Director for Career Coaching is responsible for providing career coaching support to students and alumni. The position will engage students and alumni through career coaching appointments, small group sessions and workshops. The Assistant Director engages key constituents, including faculty, staff, and alumni for participation and contribution to the overall strategy for and continued growth of Career Services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare students and alumni for careers opportunities through individual appointments, workshops and presentations, and the use of online resources. Review resumes and cover letters, provide mock interview opportunities, and networking opportunities. Design organize, lead, and evaluate innovative programming.
- Provide additional resources for career exploration such a shadowing and informational interviewing opportunities. Collaborate with staff to cross-promote appropriate internships and job opportunities available to students.
- Remain current on job market considerations and be able to apply this knowledge when advising students on job market trends, salary statistics, job search methods, resources, etc.
- Conduct outreach to faculty and offer class presentations and engage student clubs and organizations to market the Career Center.
- Develop, plan, and manage programs and workshops for students, and coordinate early engagement programming; conceptualize and implement interactive programs and networking events focusing on career fields of interest to all students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience required. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
