Summary of Position Manager of the Shimadzu Core Laboratory for Academic and Research Excellence at Ferris State University. The manager will provide oversight of the facility, including regular maintenance of the equipment. In addition, the lab manager will assist faculty and students, oversee inventory of laboratory supplies, develop laboratory protocols, and ensure compliance with standard procedures. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in research projects that involve undergraduate students. This is a temporary position that will last until August, 2018.

Required Qualifications
Required Education Master's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.
Required Work Experience - One year of experience with chromatography (such as HPLC and GC), mass spectrometry, and other basic laboratory techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Required Licenses and Certifications Valid Driver's License
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered
Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered - At least two years of experience working with instrumentation such as GCMS , LCMS , NMR , and MALDI TOF .
- Laboratory management experience.
- Research/scholarship related to area of specialty.
- Experience in the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
