Academic Ops Sppt Technical Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY: Walden University seeks a full time Technical Support Specialist with exceptional Excel skills to support our Academic Operations Team. This position requires the individual to grasp on a conceptual level the role the data plays in the overall workflow, to understand the significance of the data being analyzed, and to thus be able to identify problems, define possible solutions to those problems and implement the solutions that have been approved. This position's primary responsibilities focus on performing tasks including reviewing, updating, and preparing AOS databases, reporting, and conducting data analysis. This position is also responsible for assisting Walden University Academic Leaders and Faculty with technical support to their faculty resources on the AOS website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and maintain data tracking systems for Academic Operations Support Team. Perform database construction as requested.
  • Provide technical support to AOS website and faculty resource.
  • Collaborate with faculty to gather feedback concerning necessary changes to website and resource content.
  • Monitor and support the AOS website maintenance role account. Respond to inquiries accurately, process requests according to team standards, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Conduct functional testing and quality assurance (QA) reviews on AOS systems and databases, making appropriate revisions and corrections if needed. Ensure that all information and databases receive the appropriate level of QA, are updated as necessary, and are fully functional for use.
  • Complete maintenance or revision requests as assigned. Accurately update content in the database management system according to established timelines.
  • Assist with compiling the AOS Payroll audit and providing audit checks.
  • Manage existing operational reports.
  • Create and prepare other reports as assigned and requested.
  • Responsibilities include creating and distributing operational reports in Excel, Access, or other reporting software.
  • Review and identify issues with data in reports and effectively communicate and escalate issues to AOS Project Coordinator.
  • Provide data analysis to reports
  • Complete special projects or assignments as required

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. A Bachelor's degree in an IT Field is highly preferred.
