Job Summary
Provide supervisory, administrative, and programmatic support for the RAISE program while serving as one of the primary instructors. The Coordinator will develop and coordinate various education options and create pathways for key education and training that prepare individuals for viable, competitive, community-integrated employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.

  • Participate in the RAISE admissions process including: collecting and reviewing admissions applications and materials, conducting admissions interviews, and making admissions decisions in consultation with the Director.
  • Assist with development of Life Skills-focused courses within a comprehensive certificate program (including developing curriculum and other course-related materials). 
  • Identify existing apprenticeship and training programs available, and determine access points for participants.
  • Identify existing opportunities for collaboration at community colleges, career colleges or universities.
  • Identify existing opportunities for collaboration with community employers for job training, internships, and job placement for program participants.
  • Pursue various funding options for the program (including grants) and financial assistance for students.
  • Supervise RAISE instructors, educational aides, and volunteers as necessary.
  • Oversee RAISE program orientation(s) for new students and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with partner community agencies that make up the RAISE Advisory Group, and convene the group as necessary.
  • Assist with hiring, directing and evaluating RAISE instructors, educational aides and volunteers.
  • Assist with advising and enrolling new and current students. Work in partnership with feeder school districts.
  • Coordinate on-campus visits with prospective students and families.
  • Manage all logistics for program implementation, such as room scheduling, ordering of supplies, development of program materials, and updating of webpage.
  • Teach within the RAISE program as needed.
  • Track program outcomes and results, and report program results to Director.
  • Keep detailed records on participant enrollment and progress.
  • Prepare RAISE annual report(s) and program review(s).
  • Assist the Director with other programmatic and operational duties as needed.
  • Regular attendance is expected.
  • Using tact and courtesy, the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Excellent organizational skills.  At least 1 year of prior experience in program coordination (experience in the areas of education for individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred). Ability to work collaboratively with other internal and external staff. 

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated supervisory experience.  Prior experience working directly with students with disabilities (postsecondary level preferred).  Experience reviewing psychological testing results and other disability documentation.  Familiarity and experience with assistive technology.
