Research Support Associate, Core Flow Cytometry Lab

RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Core Flow Cytometry (Nanowell Cytometry platform) Lab, to be responsible for supporting the production of proprietary nanowell devices. These devices are fabricated from polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), a polymer. Detailed training and protocols will be provided for device production and chemical functionalization. Responsibilities will include preparing nanowell devices using PDMS; functionalizing the devices by various chemical treatments; creating an inventory for stocking of nanowell devices to track production, usage and supply; preparing necessary buffers or reagents to support the lab procedure manual; maintaining equipment according to lab policy; and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; experience with conventional laboratory methods; strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; and attention to fine detail. Must be able to handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals and biological material according to lab safety policy; prioritize and schedule workload for various production methods; work both independently and in conjunction with users of the core laboratory; and follow through on oftentimes mundane tasks. An associate's degree in a science discipline is preferred. Inventory management experience would be a plus. Job #14886-4
