Accounting Supervisor

Manage the day-to-day financial activity for the Foundations and serve as back up for the Director of Accounting to assist the Foundations and affiliates in carrying out their missions. Monitor and ensure accurate and timely general ledger reconciliations. Supervise the work activities of accountants. Make decisions that will positively impact administration and business processes and following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Make effective decisions from the application and interpretation of existing policies and laws and the accurate analysis of data to facilitate the efficient use of all resources. Compile, prepare and analyze complex financial data. Communicate regularly with directors and program managers, providing up to date details on transactions, complex financial transactions and financing. Attend Alumni board meetings and provide reports, historical data and financial input. Manage the full Alumni Association audit including reporting to the Alumni Association Finance and Audit Committee.

Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Considerable knowledge of the use of data processing techniques in maintaining accounting records. Considerable knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques when serving diverse customers. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt accounting principles and methods to a variety of fiscal needs. Demonstrated ability to review, assemble, analyze, and prepare reports of complex financial data. Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and interpret administrative policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others.

Level and type of experience
Considerable experience in the Accounting field to include analysis and data processing.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
CPA or CPA -candidate preferred. Supervisory experience. Bachelors degree with a major in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate
Salary range between $ - $43,892 - $74,000
