Environmental Health - Tenure Track Faculty Position (Open Rank)

The Appointment is a 10-month Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health as well as an M.S. in Community Health. All Environmental Health degrees are fully accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council or the Council on Education for Public Health. Faculty teach and conduct research in a variety of areas, such as Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety and Health. Candidates are expected to teach, conduct research, participate in community and university service, market and build undergraduate enrollment for the Bachelors of Science in Environmental Health, as well as coordinate all undergraduate student advising and internship assignments for undergraduate students in the program. Teaching requirements may include undergraduate and graduate level environmental health, occupational safety, and industrial hygiene topics.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
A track record of research and scholarly activity or the potential to develop an active research program in environmental and occupational health is required. In addition, the applicant must have the ability to interface within the larger public health community and its associated disciplines. Demonstration of experience teaching subjects in environmental and/or occupational health is also required for appointment.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
A terminal degree is required. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in a relevant scientific discipline and must have experience in environmental and/or occupational health.

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification

Preferred Qualifications
(1) experience as a program director or administrator or accreditation (2) experience coordinating practicum/internship placements and/or field experience; (3) ability to work well in a collegial environment with a variety of stakeholders; and (4) Prior professional certifications in environmental health, industrial hygiene and/or occupational safety and health as well as field work and/or laboratory experience within those professions is strongly preferred. (5) Teaching experience in distance formats is desirable.
