Working at MIT offers opportunities, an environment, a culture - and benefits - that just aren't found together anywhere else. If you're curious, motivated, want to be part of a unique community, and help shape the future - then take a look at this opportunity.

CITYSCOPE USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHER, Media Lab-Changing Places Group, to focus on the user-interface, user-experience, and computer graphics aspects of the CityScope platform. Will also help coordinate the community engagement process for international deployments. Responsibilities will include developing interactive tools for CityScope users, with an emphasis on making complex and sophisticated simulation tools accessible to non-experts; exploring virtual environments, new human interface devices, and other software/hardware combinations that allow for communication in a collaborative setting; developing the group's online user-experience; enabling interaction between the team of developers via the collaborative tools; and developing and fostering a crowd-sourced community forum which gathers information about various Changing Places projects deployed and currently developing around the world. CityScope is a next generation, tangible, augmented reality platform with three primary objectives: 1) to visualize and understand the meaning of complex urban data and inter-relationships; 2) simulate the impact of multiple urban interventions; and 3) support decision making in a dynamic, iterative, evidence-based process.
