Summary of Position A Scribe will write for students with disabilities while they dictate information orally. The Scribe writes/types, verbatim, the student's words and is responsible for capitalizing the first word of each sentence and inferring the natural punctuation at the end of a sentence. The Scribe records, word for word, dictated desired changes in in spelling sentence structure etc., and will ask for clarification from the student when necessary. The position requires a flexible work schedule and the desired candidate must need to maintain a high level of confidentially.

Required Qualifications

Required Education High School Diploma, plus at least two completed semester in higher education with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

Required Work Experience 1) Experience working with diverse populations.
2) Knowledge of and experience with using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
3) Demonstrated skills with working with confidential information and maintaining confidentiality.
4) Demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, and dependability in prior work experiences.
