Nursing Faculty
Type of Appointment: Nine month, full-time appointment beginning August 16, 2018
Responsibilities:
Primary emphasis on teaching college level nursing courses freshman and sophomore college courses. Teaching schedule includes fall and spring semesters teaching an average of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester. Teaching assignments may include a mix of day, evening, and weekend classes taught in a variety of formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online or clinical setting. The selected candidate will have office hours each week, participate in course and program development, advise students, assist and oversee adjunct faculty, participate in assessment, and serve on college committees.
Qualifications:
Required: A Master's degree in either nursing or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in nursing, nursing education or closely related discipline. Teaching experience in higher education. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred: Doctorate degree in nursing; a Master's degree in nursing. Experience using and assessing student learning outcomes at the course and/or program level. Experience teaching and overseeing nursing students in a clinical setting. Commitment to collaboration, innovation, creativity, and applied learning. Online teaching experience. Background in online course design and demonstrated expertise in the use of technology to support student learning. Experience teaching, advising, and working with students in a community college environment.
Hiring Range: Faculty appointments are usually at the rank of instructor or assistant professor. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
