Teaching Affiliate in Fashion Merchandising


Brief Summary:

The Fashion Program and the School of Communication & the Arts invite applicants for a non-tenure-track, full-time, Professional Lecturer Position to teach undergraduate courses from introductory to advanced levels of merchandising theory, retailing, e-commerce, buying, planning and allocation, product lifecycle management software, excel, and other concepts relevant to the business of fashion, as well as mentoring senior-level capstone projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong analytical and creative skill set, deep knowledge of the latest disruptions within the fashion industry, and the ability to teach and critique student work based on standards of the fashion industry. The Fashion Program within the School of Communication & the Arts offers a BFA in Fashion Design, and a BS in Fashion Merchandising with concentrations available in Business, Fashion Promotion, and Product Development and is nationally and internationally recognized for program excellence. Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach five course sections per semester. Course topics may include some or all of the following: Fashion in Culture & Commerce, Retailing, E-Commerce, Mobile Consumer, Buying, Planning & Allocation, Branding & Licensing, Global Merchandising Concepts, and Senior Capstone Project. Faculty are also strongly encouraged to create new courses within emerging industry directions.


Qualifications:

Master's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred. A Bachelor's degree, supported by extensive high level experience in the fashion industry will also be considered. Teaching experience is preferred.
