Director of Admission


Brief Summary:

The Director of Admission will direct all internal undergraduate admission activities while keeping both the College's mission and institutional goals (as outlined in the Strategic Plan) in mind at all times. Extensive travel is required during the fall semester for seven weeks and three weeks during the spring. In that time, the Director of Admission is required to have 4-5 points of contact a day (high school visits, college fairs). This position is required to work eight weekend shifts during the fall semester, five in the spring semester, as well as various admission related events throughout the academic year (Open House, Accepted Student Events, Regional Receptions, etc).


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage staff who analyze multiple data sources to develop and create an extensive travel, recruitment, communication and outreach plan to drive new student enrollment in support of the strategic goals of the college.
  • Review and make admission decisions on traditional undergraduate applications to Marist. Thoroughly evaluate student credentials and personal qualities.
  • Serve as a member of the Admission and Scholarship Committee which renders final admission and merit award decisions for all applicants.
  • Conduct information sessions and college fairs/nights, meeting with prospective students and their families. Prepare and revise presentations as needed to ensure appropriate information for audience (e.g., general, specific academic area, honor program).
  • Oversee all visit programs to the college, including information sessions, tours, group visits, etc.
  • Manage domestic admission staff daily activities.
  • Serve as liaison to Athletics team(s) to determine the admissibility of student athletes and level of potential scholarship award.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
  • 8-10 years of related experience.
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid presentation skills.
  • Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have experience using Banner.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team player.
