Associate Director of Annual Giving


Title: Associate Director of Annual Giving

Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Annual Giving reports to the Director of Annual Giving. The primary responsibility is management of the staff and programs associated with the execution of marketing solicitations directed toward alumni, parents, and students. This includes management of the on campus phone program including callers, student managers, fulfillment process and reporting, creation of direct mail letters and appeals, and devising solicitation e-mails, texts and social media communications including Crowdfunding.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft and edit appeal packages and develop own correspondence as needed.
  • Proofread and fact check communications relating to Annual Giving. Research donor information on Banner, the University's integrated software system.
  • Develop new programs to stimulate giving among constituencies with a focus on student and employee populations as well as targeted campaigns for alumni.
  • Follow up on all new programs to track responses. Prepare reports as needed. Make recommendations for improvements based on findings.
  • Manage Annual Campaigns staff.
  • Work with Director to coordinate mailings, emails and social media solicitations.
  • Coordinate crowdfunding efforts and support social media campaigns and tools.
  • Prepare and coordinate printing. Follow-up with vendors concerning print jobs
  • Make follow-up or confirmatory phone calls as needed.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's/advanced degrees preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in development/advancement
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, public-speaking, and written skills
  • Leadership and sales skills to recruit, solicit, market, and manage individual alumni and groups
  • Ability to take initiative, be creative, and attentive to detail
  • Work as part of a larger group and independently
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook/e-mail programs
  • Knowledge of Social Media and Crowdfunding fundraising methodologies preferred.
