Job Description
The Senior Recruiter/Scholarships Coordinator provides admissions counseling, trains recruiting staff, assists with student recruitment initiatives, coordinates programs, manages, markets and promotes the undergraduate admissions scholarship and waiver programs.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Public Administration, Business, or other related field.
Four years of experience in higher education recruitment, admissions, or enrollment services.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
Experience in higher education, public relations, communication, or public speaking.
Experience working with scholarships.
Experience working with Banner software.
Bilingual: Spanish

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
•Provides admissions counseling to undergraduate students and their families on the admissions process, admission requirements, and subsequent enrollment.
•Provides counseling on the selection process and requirements to students denied admission.
•Provides guidance and training to recruitment staff, including internal procedures, customer service, and problem resolution.
•Participates and supports the development of recruitment plans for programs, events, and activities for undergraduate students.
•Assists in the management, administration, and implementation of the university procedures and programs for student recruitment initiatives.
•Responds to inquiries regarding activities, programs, and events.
•Ensures effective promotion of the university's scholarship program to students, parents, high school counselors, and others by coordinating with the office of Admissions and the office of Financial Aid.
•Develops strategies to use academic scholarships to recruit and retain students.
•Manages database to analyze scholarship and student recruitment data to identify those students eligible for scholarships.
•Maintains scholarship information on the web page and in printed publications.
•Oversees the daily operations of the scholarship component with regard to initial awarding of scholarships and dissemination and acceptance of award letters.
•Coordinates the activities of the instate waiver committee.
•Maintains an organized system tracking scholarships.
•Collaborates with the office of financial aid and maintains tracking for all scholarship programs.
•Reviews the files of all scholarship recipients for renewal confirmation each semester. Ensures compliance with university, state, and federal laws, policies and principles of good practice.
•Provides information to parents and potential students on scholarship guidelines, regulations, and awards. Responds to all communications to students in a timely manner.
•Communicates notifications of non-renewal to students and coordinates the appeal process.
•Develops strategies to support enrollment and continually reviews the scholarship and waiver programs and makes recommendations for changes or new programs.
•Collaborates with admission recruiters, conducts outreach, and participates with recruitment activities, information sessions, high school visits, and open house events to build awareness of scholarship opportunities.
•Coordinates annual yield events for scholarship recipients.
