Brief Summary:
The Department of Media Studies and Production in the School of Communication and the Arts at Marist College invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) of media arts.
The Media Studies and Production degree grew out of Marist's Communication program and is now its own major with two concentrations: Television & Film and Interactive Media & Game Design.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will be able to teach a range of courses at the undergraduate level including writing for the media and screenwriting. The ability to teach production and/or history/theory courses would be a plus. Tenure track candidates will conduct research and/or creative work in the candidate's area of expertise, leading to tenure and promotion, and engage in academic advising, service to the institution, and to the candidate's academic discipline.
Qualifications:
Qualified tenure track candidates will hold a terminal degree in media studies and production or a related field at the time of the appointment, and possess a record of teaching, scholarship/creativity, and service commensurate with the appointment. Professional experience in screenwriting is particularly desirable. Previous teaching experience is a plus.
