Position Description:

Develops web applications from general specifications into language appropriate to the assignment; consults with users or senior staff to define subsystem or program requirements; develops and uses sample input data to test accuracy of programs; and reviews and analyzes system/program problems. A defined career path exists. Based on experience, the successful candidate will be hired into one of two levels of professional opportunity: Programmer Analyst/Web or Senior Programmer Analyst/Web and will be given the opportunity to progress through the career path by achieving defined performance objectives once employed. Additional duties required for Senior Programmer Analyst/Web position.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an IT related field required. An associate's degree in an IT related field plus at least three years of IT related experience may be substituted.

Required Qualifications:

An understanding of administrative uses of computing services, working knowledge of SQL, knowledge or exposure to a relational DBMS, and course work or practical experience with modern programming languages required.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience with Oracle DBMS, Oracle PL/SQL, Unix/Linux, Model-View-Controller architecture, and database integration with web applications preferred. Course work or practical experience with Java and/or Perl programming languages also preferred.
