About the Division of Mass Communication, College of Professional Studies

Within the College, the Division of Mass Communications has 14 active full time faculty, who teach and conduct research in a broad spectrum of areas in mass media.

Job Description:

The Division of Mass Communication at College of Professional Studies, St. John's University, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-accruing position, at the level of Assistant Professor, in the graduate program of International Communication http://www.stjohns.edu/academics/schools-and-colleges/college-professional-studies/programs-and-majors/international-communication-master-science, beginning an academic year of 2017-2018. The Division seeks a dynamic faculty who is/will be engaged in research and teaching, and who will contribute substantially to its long-term growth. Primary responsibilities include the development of a research portfolio and teaching assignments in the areas of design thinking, public policy, development, international, trans-cultural, multi-sector communication, as well as the development of courses in computational communication and social media analytics; and also teaching undergraduate courses in International Communication.

Qualifications:

Completed Ph.D. in the area of computational/engineering sciences with the research on social media and analytics and Computational Communication, and a distinctive focus on global affairs. Teaching experience will be an asset.
