College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences St. John's University

The individual is an administrator in the Office of the Dean, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and will report to the Associate Director for Assessment.

Position Overview

The assessment coordinator will provide ongoing support for assessment activities, assist with the analysis of assessment methods and results and report results to both internal and external stakeholders. The assessment coordinator will assist with the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of data to academic, support, and administrative units.



Responsibilities
  • Coordinate data collection and analysis related to the assessment cycle of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences
  • Prepare assessment reports for dissemination to internal and external audiences
  • Collaborate in efforts related to accreditation reporting databases and documentation collection and organization across programs
  • Work with committees and programs to collect data, design assessment tools, analyze data, and document analysis in reports
  • Coordinate operations related to the College's testing software modalities, including assessment-related software and data systems
  • Continually monitor and track various cyclical assessment data items
  • Develop statistical models to measure impact of learning support services on student achievement of intended learning outcomes
  • Coordinate and evaluate various assessment efforts for academic programs within the College
  • Assist faculty with analysis of data to help evaluate the effectiveness of tests and items
  • Work with Committee on Assessment and Outcomes to problem-solve issues that arise with assessment plan
  • Execute surveys and other evaluation instruments for assessment initiatives and effectiveness evaluation projects
  • Participate actively in the Office of Assessment's ongoing research and publishing efforts
  • Collaborate with departments and academic programs in planning and conducting assessments of student learning, goals and outcomes for both internal and external purposes
  • Some evenings and weekends work may be required for special programs and events
  • Special projects as assigned by the Dean or his designee(s)
  • other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, Graduate degree in instructional design, curricular design, applied mathematics, statistics or other relevant education preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in higher education assessment- educational outcomes or assessment experience preferred
  • Experience with relational databases required
  • Technical skills, including experience with survey systems, computer-based testing systems and statistical methodology preferred
  • Ability to collect, analyze and present data in a cohesive manner
  • Strong organizational and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, self-initiate and work cooperatively
