Hiring Range: $10.05 - $16.00 per hour

DESCRIPTION:

Paul D. Camp Community College is seeking a customer focused and detail oriented Administrative Assistant for the Workforce Development (WFD) Center to provide clerical support to staff, faculty, and clients by greeting and assisting individuals, processing payroll for WFD Instructors, and managing academic records. The incumbent also serves as WFD cashier by handling cash, check, and credit payments for services, issuing refunds, processing accounts receivable transactions, and submitting documentation to the Business Office. The incumbent is expected to maintain strict confidentiality in handling staff, faculty, and client information including personal, business, and financial.

 

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Review program and/or course applications and determine eligibility for participation
  • Enter and maintain data in various software systems and databases
  • Process and confirm room rentals
  • Prepare financial and administrative reports for WFD projects, programs, and operations
  • Communicate with payroll office to confirm deadlines and due dates for related documentation
  • Develop and distribute flyers, memos, and similar communication
  • Prepare instructor class packets and print certificates of completion

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and experience
  • Knowledge of community college programs and workforce development programs
  • Ability to use sound judgement and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of policies and procedures daily
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and use of electronic databases and software systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounts receivable and payroll processes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials
  • Ability to interact well with faculty and staff in providing excellent customer service to meet the needs of students.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail
