Senior Research Support Associate - Hynes Lab

SENIOR RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research Hynes Lab, to join a lab interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying metastasis, the spread of tumor cells throughout the body, particularly the role of extracellular matrix proteins. Will conduct research under the supervision of postdoctoral researcher/PI in the field of breast cancer metastasis, with a focus on imaging and targeting of breast cancer using animal models and molecular and cell biological techniques. Primary responsibilities will include performing standard and advanced molecular biology methods; routine generation and panning of phage display libraries; protein expression and purification; maintaining mammalian cell cultures; execution of protocols of non-routine experiments; maintaining detailed records of experimental design and results; maintaining and preparing laboratory stocks, supplies, and reagents; handling mice; and participation in laboratory meetings to gain knowledge of relevant research directions.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: experience with some or all of the following: mammalian cell culture and transfection; molecular biology (DNA and RNA purification, PCR, molecular cloning), biochemical techniques (Western blotting, protein expression and purification), and handling mice; willingness to work with animals; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and diverse; ability to recognize needs of the laboratory and one's own responsibilities; comfort analyzing, summarizing, and reporting results to researchers; demonstrated commitment to exceeding quality standards and providing exceptional services; excellent problem solving skills; meticulous attention to detail; practiced documentation skills; a strong commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work; and an awareness of basic safety issues and the ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
