Duties and Responsibilities:

PHCC is seeking a full-time nursing and health faculty member. Instructional assignments include classroom, laboratory, and the clinical setting. Full-time faculty are required to teach 12-15 credit hours per semester, and may be required to teach various courses within the designated discipline/field of study. Full-time faculty members also will serve as faculty advisors, serve on department/division/campus/college committees, participate in curriculum development, and other responsibilities as assigned. The nursing program is an approved Virginia Board of Nursing educational program and hence complies with all Regulations for Nursing Education Programs 18 VAC 90-27-10 et seq. This is a 9-month faculty position to begin August 16, 2017.

 

Hiring Range: Minimum Salary $48,876 plus excellent benefits package. Rank and salary are dependent upon education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must hold an unencumbered, current Virginia Registered Nursing license with multi-state licensure privilege, a Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, and two years of related nursing/occupational experience is required. Candidate should be familiar with utilizing computer and other technologies for instruction.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous community college or college teaching experience in the nursing field including classroom, and clinical settings. Experience with curriculum development and with learning management systems such as Blackboard. Experience with nationally recognized nursing education accreditation processes and standards.

 

Special Requirements

Selected applicant must pass a criminal records background check. Nursing faculty are required to maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification, receive yearly Tuberculosis screening, and provide proof of current immunizations. Documents verifying identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be presented upon employment.
