The College of Professional Studies (CPS) at St. John's University is seeking to recruit a full-time administrator at the level of Associate Dean for Global and Online Programs. CPS has the largest undergraduate student body within the University and serves close to 4000 students in 28 undergraduate and 4 graduate level programs. General Responsibilities:

The Associate Dean for Global and Online Programs, under direction from the Dean of CPS, focuses on developing the College international, online and executive programs, with a particular focus on developing new partnerships and enrollment diversification initiatives online and abroad. The Associate Dean works closely with the faculty in identifying engagements and opportunities to achieve international prominence in scholarly and applied research, particularly in professional areas. S/He defines and develops areas for CPS expansion in non-traditional student segments. The Associate Dean is primarily involved in international academic and professional outreach. The key goal of this position is to increase the visibility of the College of Professional Studies and to develop new Centers of Excellence, particularly in distinguishing programs in homeland security, cyber-security, computer science, and communications, and other key professional programs.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Act as key leader for the establishment and coordination of high growth international and online programs and initiatives
  • Participate in the CPS Strategic Planning Committee and contribute to the development of CPS Annual Report, CPS Annual Plan and University Strategic Plan Updates, representing the Dean, when necessary
  • Develop relationships with local and global organizations to attract new market segments (professional and corporate) to specialized, executive programs, particularly in the technology sector
  • In collaboration with other CPS Associate Deans, develop and market online programs with growth potential both at the graduate and undergraduate level
  • Increase CPS reputation and branding in the intl. academic and professional communities
  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

This position is seeking to recruit international scholars with an outstanding record of scholarly research, teaching and service that would warrant the appointment at the full-professor level. Given CPS focus on building new laboratories spaces in the area of security (specifically, cyber-security, homeland security, computer science, technological innovation and communications), preference will be given to candidates with a background in STEM disciplines, with a particular focus on computer science, information management, and computer security. A Ph.D. degree and significant scholarly work in related disciplines (information assurance, electrical and computer engineering, engineering management) will also be considered. The successful candidate will have a record of success in program building at the global, online and executive / professional levels. Experience with developing and managing international programs is required. Strong competence in program assessment and familiarity with ABET or other similar accreditation standards is a plus.
