Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Job Description: The Vice President for Institutional Advancement is responsible to the President for supporting the goals and mission of the college in the following ways: planning, leadership and implementation of all college fund-raising initiatives, development research and records, grant writing, planned giving, endowment, scholarships, and alumni and parent engagement programs; planning, leadership and implementation of all college marketing and public information activities; high-level support for community and government relations activities. The Vice President will lead a team of development and marketing/public information professionals and administrative staff. The VP will also serve as Executive Director of the Foundation and participate in/facilitate the development of goals and objectives for the Education Foundation by advising and making recommendations to the President and Foundation Board of Directors.

 

This is an administrative faculty position. Salary is commensurate with rank and credentials.

 

Appointment date: July 1, 2017.

Minimum Salary: $104,426/DOE. Full state benefits apply.

Minimum Requirements: A master's degree in an appropriate administrative/marketing discipline is desirable, although a bachelor's degree with extensive related experience will be considered. Preference will be given to related experience within a community college system.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of current practices in higher education, particularly community colleges; experience in development of a successful marketing and development strategic plan; excellent interpersonal skills; maintaining confidentiality. Leadership and management skills especially in the areas of fund development, alumni and community relations, public relations and marketing through collaboration and team building; supervision. Excellent communications skills and organizational abilities. Experience in relationship management. Current demonstrated knowledge in and significant experience with philanthropic practices.

 

Special Requirements: Any offer of employment will be contingent upon an acceptable background investigation and reference check. Also, candidate is required to annually complete a Statement of Economic Interest.
