Job Description
The Coordinator, Student Programming provides leadership and direction for a comprehensive student involvement program that supports the university strategy and promotes the intellectual, cultural, personal, and social development of all students.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, or related field.
One year of experience in student affairs in a higher education setting in student programming, student activities, or leadership development; or two years of graduate assistant-ship experience can substitute for one year of professional experience.
Experience with personal computers using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with workshop and program facilitation and implementation to provide student with leadership development and organizational skills that will complement their classroom learning.
Two years of experience in Student Affairs at a higher education institution in student organizations, student programming, fraternity & sorority life, leadership development, or a related area.
Experience with Florida laws concerning student fees, risk management, and student governance.

Knowledge of and experience with evaluation and assessment practices.

Salary Range
$39,000 - $44,990

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties
•Advises the Programming Board Executive Board and oversees daily operation of organization, including event planning, organizational development, and budgeting.
•Develops and creates programs to enhance and provide opportunities for the student to engage in campus programming activities and the university experience.
•Assures program is meeting student needs by scheduling regular meetings with supervisor to provide program updates, plan future developments, and discuss pertinent issues.
•Plans and implements training for the Programming Board leaders and members in the areas of event planning, leadership development, crisis management, university policy, legal matters, and fiscal responsibility.
•Encourages innovations and responsibility in program implementation and provides opportunities to practice leadership and organizational skills.
•Coordinates marketing initiatives and assists with recruitment efforts involving membership. Creates print and web-based communications to promote the Office of Student Involvement and Dean of Students' office.
•Implements and participates in campus programming initiatives, Homecoming, Late Night Breakfast events, Week of Welcome, Eagle Family Weekend, and other ongoing events.
•Prepares students for leadership roles and responsibilities. Develops and/or participates in activities (workshops, retreats, programs, and conferences) that encourage student learning and critical thinking.
•Co-Chairs the Homecoming Steering committee with the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. Ensures the appropriate stakeholders are represented on the committee.
•Oversees the student engagement programming and plans future needs for student groups. Provides support and advisement to the programming board and executive board members.
•Supervises assigned Graduate Assistant and student employees to deliver high quality student life programming.
•Works collaboratively with programming board and other offices to develop a diverse series of programming opportunities to meet the diverse needs of non-traditional, multicultural, international, and the commuter student.
•Prepares and implements evaluations, manages data, assessment, and strategic planning initiatives to assess and report growth and effectiveness of the overall and individual programs to supervisor and appropriate stakeholders.
•Incorporates programming operation standards using Council Advancement of Standard in Higher Education ( CAS ) and/or National Association of Campus Activities ( NACA ).
•Oversees, maintains, and provides general strategic planning for the programming board budget. Works collaboratively with vendors to review, develop, and negotiate contracts.
•Serves as a member of the DOS care team.
