Engineering and Physical Sciences Librarian

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Librarian will develop and deliver library services to the students and faculty in engineering and the physical sciences, including research assistance, instruction, and collection development. The Librarian will serve as the contact person for the College of Engineering and the College of Sciences in the physical sciences and their departments, programs, and research centers.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding and rapidly changing service-oriented environment
• Demonstrated skills in teaching
• Ability to cultivate relationships with faculty in assigned disciplines
• Knowledge of the information and research needs of assigned disciplines and an understanding of current trends and issues in scholarly publishing
• Initiative

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
• ALA -accredited MLS or MLIS degree
• Experience in teaching and training
• Experience in identifying and meeting research needs of library users

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience or coursework in physical sciences and/or engineering
• Experience developing and managing science or engineering-related collections in all formats.
• Experience in an academic or research library
