Overview

SHARE's purpose is to lead and support campus efforts to address interpersonal violence and abuse. The Office provides emergency response, intervention, and care to student victims/survivors of sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking. We also work closely with a network of campus and community partners to foster a University environment that is intolerant of abuse, responsive to needs of victims/survivors, and holds perpetrators accountable for their actions. We aim to contribute to a campus culture in which interpersonal violence has no place and our distinctive community of learning is free to flourish.

The Prevention Curriculum & Assessment Manager (PCAM) possess Master's-level training and training or experience in prevention program and curriculum development, assessment, and health communications. The PCAM is responsible for day-to-day management and implementation of multiple, ongoing SHARE prevention and education efforts for undergraduate and graduate students. These efforts span the social ecological model and focus on promoting bystander intervention and healthy relationships. The PCAM oversees the SHARE peer program's recruitment, training, and educational programming, including awareness month activities and prevention efforts. The PCAM takes the lead on new program development and assessment and serves as a resource for other SHARE staff developing programs and assessments specific to their areas. The PCAM contributes to the development of educational content, communications, and outreach (e.g., social media, website) related to Respect Matters, a violence prevention subcomponent to Princeton University's UMatter campaign. This individual also takes the lead in ensuring that all SHARE's programs and services are assessed appropriately and results are used for improvement.

Responsibilities



Assessment (25%)
  • Develops and implements a campus readiness assessment for key stakeholder groups, including graduate students, as it pertains to violence prevention efforts.
  • Develops new and enhances existing logic models for prevention initiatives to ensure that prevention program outcomes across the social ecological model are evidence- and best practice-informed and clearly articulated.
  • Develops new and enhances existing assessment tools to assess prevention program outcomes.
  • Collects and analyzes data to determine program effectiveness, and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Creates reports and performs data analysis as needed.
  • Implements changes to programs based on what is learned from assessment.

Supervision (25%)
  • Recruits, trains and supervises student peer educators who serve as peer mentors, spokespersons and liaisons with the SHARE office, and who act as role models in the campus community for effective bystander intervention and healthy relationships.

Curriculum development and review (20%)
  • Researches and develops evidence-informed educational programs, grounded in the risk and protective factors related to perpetration of interpersonal violence and abuse, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating/domestic violence and stalking.
  • Reviews comprehensive prevention programming efforts to identify gaps in education and opportunities for additional dosing.
  • Reviews sequential programming for target populations to ensure material is developmentally appropriate and achieves the desired change in behavior.
  • Develops new curricula in keeping with the mission of the University, Campus Life and SHARE office objectives.
  • Identifies opportunities for collaboration with campus and community partners to further enhance student training and prevention opportunities.

Health Communication (20%)
  • Collaborates with the SHARE Director and other health promotion and student life staff in the development of education, communications, and outreach messages and materials.
  • Collaborates with student fellows to develop and disseminate Respect Matters content via social media, UMatter website, and other mediums.


Advocacy (10%)
  • Serves as a confidential advocate for victims/survivors of interpersonal violence and abuse as a member of the SHARE staff on-call response team, covering evening and weekend hours on a rotating schedule throughout the calendar year. Documents services delivered in a timely manner.


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
    • Master's degree in public health or a related field with a focus on prevention, behavior change, intervention design, health communications, or similar.
    • Five to seven years of professional experience in a sexual violence-related field (preferably in a college setting).
    • Minimum of three years' experience with sexual assault/domestic violence education and violence prevention strategies.
    • Prior experience with developing and implementing violence prevention and education curriculum and programs involving bystander intervention and healthy relationships.
    • Proven record of implementing evidence-informed primary prevention and prevention programming as it pertains to sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking.
    • Possesses knowledge about the risk and protective factors that contribute to interpersonal violence.
    • Expertise in health communications with ability to use technology (electronic applications and social media) to effectively reach target audiences.
    • Able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
    • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders (including student, faculty and administrative constituencies), and to build and maintain effective, trusting relationships over time.
    • Has advanced small and large group facilitation skills.
    • Training or experience in victim/survivor advocacy or a willingness to be trained and serve in this role.
    • Demonstrates a talent for collaboration, team-building, and working within a team-based model.
    • Is well-organized, composed under pressure, and able to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
    • Able to balance strong commitment to social justice with a capacity to navigate complex organizational systems.
    • Is detail-oriented and solution-focused, capable of delivering work products aligned with the guiding principles of SHARE, UHS, and Princeton University.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in higher education setting.
  • Expertise in health communication.
  • Experience with volunteer management.
  • Proven ability to support victims/survivors in a manner that respects a diversity of experiences across a range of ethnic/racial identities, religious affiliation and practices, socioeconomic statuses, and sexual orientations.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey and federal statutes and regulations pertaining to sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking.
  • Prior training as a county-based confidential sexual assault and domestic violence victims advocate in New Jersey.
