Overview

The Financial Services Associate is responsible for staffing the Financial Service Center located on campus during normal University operating hours, representing the Office of Finance and Treasury, and demonstrating a high standard of customer service delivery in the support of multiple Finance and Treasury functions.

This individual provides direct support in-person, by phone, or by e-mail to members of the University community on a range of Finance and Treasury related processes. The services provided by the Associate include granting and removing access to financial systems, providing essential support for Prime systems and processes, providing guidance on questions related to financial policies, managing financial transactions for academic departments, providing customer support for the university credit card program, and cashiering, among other services.

The Financial Services Associate needs to have a solid understanding of the functionality of various financial applications from the user perspective to troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate production issues. This individual also needs to have comprehensive knowledge of the complexites of the integrations among the systems, as well as data security frameworks and protocols.

The Financial Services Associate is responsible for working across all functional areas within the Office of Finance and Treasury to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of financial services to campus, and to collaborate with Finance and Treasury staff to enhance business processes and service.

Responsibilities

  • Direct support in-person, by phone, or by e-mail to members of the University community on a range of Finance and Treasury related processes. Provides a wide range of financial services to the University community related to buying and paying, travel booking, expense management, payroll, and student accounts.
  • Manage customer support for the departmental university credit card program, including support of the card application process, card issuance and replacement, credit limit adjustments, emergency requests, purchasing and travel card policy questions, and billing questions. Resolve issues and answer questions related to financial reporting, journal processes in Prime Financials, and Labor Accounting.
  • Manage systems security and access to all University financial systems supported by the Office of Finance and Treasury, including the managing the appropriate purchasing and payment approval authority.
  • Track and analyze reported issues to determine if there are problems that need to be escalated, spotting trends, and identifying themes that may be difficult to isolate and followup on all escalated issues to ensure resolution. Communicate concerns to operational and technical management and advise management of recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide cashiering and check services to the University community. Serves as a Notary Public for members of the University community. Promote and enable direct deposit enrollment.
  • General office duties and other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in management, business, finance, accounting, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting, accounting procedures and budget reconciliations, preferably in an academic setting.
  • Experience in a high level of service delivery in a front-line customer service position, and by phone and/or e-mail.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience at Princeton, or an institution similar to Princeton, is strongly preferred.
