Overview

The Theory Department at Princeton University's Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory seeks a full time computational scientist to participate in the new exascale computing project "Co-design Center for Particle Applications (CoPA).” The offered position's rank will depend upon the qualifications of the applicant. The research effort aims at improving all aspects of particle simulations as the computing platforms advance beyond the 10 to 100 PF level and towards exascale.

Responsibilities

The project work will include a close collaboration between multi-area application scientists including magnetic fusion scientists, applied mathematicians, and computer scientists, as well as the software and hardware developers. Knowledge of large-scale particle simulation methods and high performance computing is a definite plus.

Qualifications

Applicant should have a Ph.D. in computer science, applied mathematics or plasma sciences. English communication and writing skills are required and so is being able to work in a large, distributed group.
