Central Connecticut State University’s Department of Residence Life invites applications for a 12-month live-in Area Coordinator position. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the overall quality of life in a university residence hall. The emphasis of this position is on establishing and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to personal growth, community building and academic achievement. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Please note that CCSU does not permit pets.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Two years’ experience as a residence hall director
-
Experience in advising, staff training, summer conferences and operations
-
Computer knowledge in Microsoft, i.e., Word, Excel and PowerPoint
-
Commitment to serving a diverse student body
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Recent residence life work experience at a college or university setting

Experience with Adirondack Solutions The Housing Director and/or other housing management software

Experience overseeing the operational needs of a residence hall (i.e., submitting work orders, inventory control) and supervising resident assistants

Demonstrated experience with crisis management including student conduct
Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
