Brief Summary:
The Marist College Department of Mathematics invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Mathematics to begin fall 2017. This position is for one year. The Department anticipates conducting a search for a tenure-track position in applied mathematics to start in the fall of 2018. The Department of Mathematics offers a traditional B.A. in Mathematics, a B.A. in Mathematics Education, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with concentrations in actuarial science, biology, chemistry, and computer science. In addition, we offer an interdisciplinary B.S. in Data Science and Analytics with the Department of Computing Technology. Teaching responsibilities will include 9 & 12 contact hours per week in alternating semesters. Superior teaching skills and enthusiasm in the classroom are essential. Situated on the banks of the Hudson, Marist College is a four-year liberal arts institution enrolling 4700 full time undergraduate students. Housed within the School of Computer Science and Mathematics, the Mathematics Department currently employs 9 full time mathematics faculty and serves approximately 130 majors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include teaching a variety of mathematics courses at the undergraduate level.
Qualifications:
Having a Ph.D. is preferred, but strong candidates with imminent Ph.D. completion dates will also be considered.
