The School of Dental Hygiene at Old Dominion University invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, 10-month faculty position as lecturer in the School of Dental Hygiene, College of Health Sciences beginning July 25, 2017. The School of Dental Hygiene educates both undergraduate and graduate students in the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (Entry-level and online Post-licensure programs) and the Master of Science in Dental Hygiene (on-campus, online or hybrid).
The position involves teaching and service responsibilities in the School's undergraduate and graduate programs, and the role of Clinical Director.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Successful candidates will have an MS, MEd or equivalent degree, possess a current Virginia dental hygiene license or be eligible for Virginia dental hygiene licensure. Specific experience in teaching didactic and clinical dental hygiene courses, and clinical administration is required. Competitive candidates will have evidence of the following: student mentoring, professional and community service.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
Additionally, the candidate will have evidence of clinical practice and certification in the administration of local anesthesia or be willing to obtain certification.

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
Current certification in CPR Healthcare Provider with AED training.
