Dental Hygiene - Assistant Professor, Tenure Track

The College of Health Sciences at Old Dominion University invites qualified candidates to apply for a 10-month tenure track faculty position in the School of Dental Hygiene. This is a full-time position with an attractive benefits package. The School of Dental Hygiene educates both undergraduate and graduate students in the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (Entry-level and online Post-licensure programs) and the Master of Science in Dental Hygiene (on-campus, online or hybrid). Incoming faculty will be expected to maintain an active program of teaching, research and service, which includes mentoring graduate students in research. (http://www.hs.odu.edu).
The position involves teaching, research and service responsibilities in the School's undergraduate and graduate programs. The candidate is expected to work with graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
The candidate must have experience in effective didactic and clinical teaching and involvement in service, demonstrate effective oral and written communication, and have peer reviewed research publication(s).

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
The candidate must be a licensed dental hygienist with a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, and a master's degree in dental hygiene or equivalent; possess or be eligible to obtain a Virginia dental hygiene license

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred attributes of the ideal candidate include: experience conducting research studies, an earned doctorate, history of grant funding, and experience teaching in lab-based courses
