Project Director, Grant Activities

Project Director

 

Position Description: The Project Director will provide thoughtful insight and lead strategy formulation for implementation of grant activities for DSLCC coordinating with the Consortium Director based at Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College and in partnership with Alleghany College of Maryland.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with industry in DSLCC's service area to help promote pathways and encourage employment opportunities.
  • Create and/or modify promotional resources to target participants and businesses. Ensure intake and assessment consistency among participants.
  • Create a guided pathway visual that shows the course progression from class, to skill set, to credential/academic award.
  • Communicate the internal stacking of credits to all stakeholders.
  • Seek internal approval for internal latticing of credits.
  • Work with consortium partners to create reciprocity agreements.
  • Examine state licensing requirements. Create a visual for obtaining cross-state licensing that identify necessary steps to obtain an out-of-state licensing
  • Work with consortium to implement tracking software.
  • Ensure all required DOL data are collected and utilized appropriately. Oversee Case Manager to ensure participant data are accurate.
  • Work with consortium colleges to implement a last-dollar-in system for disbursing tuition assistance funds.
  • Meet with WIB and internal offices to understand how tuition assistance funds are applied and disbursed.
  • Create a documentation system with the business office and financial aid to ensure records are created and maintained.
  • Serve as a valued member of the college and contribute thoughtful leadership to the formulation of institutional strategies that ensure the successful implementation of college mission, vision, values and purposes.
  • Develop and nurture a positive public presence with the external community through service on committees and boards; participation in community events; and one-on-one/small group interaction with community leaders, citizens, donors and prospects, as appropriate.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

 

Desirable Qualifications: Master's degree; Community College experience a plus.
